Nau mai, Haere Mai, Welcome!
Hamurana Springs Experience is home to Hangarua Springs, Dancing Sands Springs and the Hamurana Stream. Just 15 minutes’ drive from Rotorua, the spring water originates from the surrounding plateau where it travels for 70 years underground before rising through 15 metres of volcanic rock at Hamurana. The spring spouts four million litres of water per hour – enough to fill two Olympic sized swimming pools each day, before flowing downstream to Lake Rotorua.
Get back to nature with the unparalleled peace & serenity that is Hamurana. Feel the troubles of the modern world disappear as you journey through lush, untouched landscape with an easy, low impact stream-side walk suitable for all ages and fitness levels. A grove of towering Redwoods will escort you on an immersive journey that gives you direct access to the deepest natural fresh water spring in the North Island. Bring your friends and family and enjoy the Taonga (treasure) that is:
